Welcome to Luv My Hood!

Hey there!  Welcome to my new Real Estate Blog!

I have many reasons to start this Blog.  Wanna know what they are?  Well, I'm going to tell you anyway... since you stopped by.

There are some clearly obvious reasons:

*To Generate some New Business
*Thus Generating Additional Income
*To be a Valuable Source of Information to my Clients
*To Pass on things I find Interesting - that relate in any form or fashion to Real Estate

But.. let me digress and tell you where this idea initially came from:

I had this really great client who was super proactive in taking her Home Finding destiny in to her own hands.  I was actually the Listing Agent for her home in the Dallas Metroplex.  Where she was taking charge was with her new home in a new City.  It was a City that was totally foreign to  her and her family so she wasn't sure where to start.  She had an inspired idea!  She decided since she was moving to a new City with a Husband and Kids she needed to figure out the best way to truly get the honest scoop on what neighborhoods were the place to be.  She had already found a great Agent to help her in her new City but was not sure that was her #1 best source for unbiased information.  I would agree with her.  Don't get me wrong - I am an Agent and I believe in what we do!  However, it never hurts to get additional intel outside of your Real Estate Agent.  She did.  Her inspired idea was to hit parks that were around the target areas of the City she was moving to.  She started chatting up the other Mom's that were there and boy did she get some great information.  She did this at several different parks and it helped her narrow down her search.  She really got a feel for what these Mom's liked about certain neighborhoods and why.  It was a tremendous help in her search.  She was able to narrow it down to one specific neighborhood, and with the help of these New Park Mom Friends, she was able to get the inside scoop on homes before they were on the Market.

Her success got me thinking, "There needs to be a Virtual Park where consumers can go and get vital information on new areas".  Eventually, when this Blog grows up, that is what I would like it to be.  It is just an infant right now.  It will for sure start out mostly local... my own personal information portal for my own backyard.

Those are my hopes and dreams anyway... but for now I will just settle for a few good informational posts a week!  I also hope that some of these posts will cross over to my other blog Primer and Painted Nails.

If you just want to do the basics and search for a new home, knock yourself out and pop on over to my website Kellys Preferred Homes.

Thanks for stopping by!
